5 dead in bauchi Bomb Blast

Barely  a week after the Federal Government announced a ceasefire deal with Boko Haram,Five people were confirmed dead while 12 others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a bomb explosion at a motor park roundabout Wednesday night at Azare town,Bauchi state.
Azare is the commercial nerve centre of the northern part of the state which is about 4 hours drive from the state capital.
THISDAY checks revealed that the incident which occurred around 9.55pm in the busy area of Azare town caused panic and anxiety among  residents of the area who scamper for safety of their lives.
Confirming the incident while briefing newsmen Thursday in Bauchi, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Haruna Mohammed  disclosed that the five persons were burnt beyond recognition,and the injured victims were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre(FMC),Azare for medical attention.
The PPRO further added that all the corpses have been evacuated to the mortuary.
Our Correspondent reports that the entire surrounding has been cordoned off and the scene secured by the Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit from the Command headquaters,Bauchi.
However, no arrest has so far been made but investigation had commenced to ascertain the cause of the incident.
